Elevate Communities, Elevate Yourself: Stand Out for Equity.

I’m a tech-savvy change maker with 10+ years turning big ideas into real impact. I build bold solutions, spark cross-sector collaborations, and use data to break down barriers in equity-seeking communities. Equal parts IT alchemist and equity advocate, I’m all about harnessing technology to drive justice, sustainability, and opportunity for all.

    Grassroots Coordinator
    December 2023 - Present

At The Conservation Fund’s Resourceful Communities Program, I help communities turn big ideas into sustainable realities. I work with local leaders to blend environmental stewardship with economic growth—because thriving towns and healthy ecosystems should go hand in hand. My toolkit? Grant writing, fundraising, capacity-building workshops, and plenty of hands-on technical assistance.

I also wrangle partnerships with nonprofits, government, and the private sector to stretch impact further. Add in some data-driven evaluation, and you’ve got a recipe for stronger projects, smarter decisions, and more resilient communities. Bottom line: I help under-resourced communities grow sustainably, equitably, and with their natural resources intact.

    Statewide Training Coordinator
    January 2023 - December 2023

I designed and delivered training programs that turned complex brain injury topics into clear, practical skills—covering everything from early detection to long-term care. Partnering with healthcare pros, educators, caregivers, and survivors themselves, I made sure the content hit home for diverse audiences.

To keep learning engaging (and not a snooze-fest), I built in interactive workshops, real-world scenarios, and case studies. I also took the trainings online—through webinars, e-learning, and virtual forums—so folks from all walks of life and corners of the map could join in. The result? Broader reach, smarter caregiving, and programs that actually stick.

    Benefits Outreach Manager
    January 2006 - July 2019

I ran the NC DHHS FNS-SNAP Outreach Contract, boosting participation by 5% a year with smart, targeted outreach. I built unlikely-but-powerful alliances—state departments, schools, clinics, even reentry programs—to make sure everyone from older adults to returning citizens could access resources. From big-picture strategy to on-the-ground operations, I used data to drive outreach that actually worked. Along the way, I expanded access to critical nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC, SFSP, School Breakfast) and led TEFAP recruitment to bring more agencies to the table—literally—so food distribution was fair, sustainable, and community-driven.

    VermontFoodHelp.com Project Manager
    March 2002 – June 2005

As project lead, I was the project manager and lead the launched of a first-of-its-kind online pre-screening portal for SNAP—making it simple, accessible, and user-friendly. I drove a statewide campaign (think social media buzz, community events, and strategic partnerships) that boosted applications by 8% statewide. By rolling out an empathetic multimedia campaign across radio, socials, and local networks, I helped cut SNAP stigma by 15% and connected more than 3,200 more households to food security. The result? A 10% statewide drop in food insecurity—and a lot more trust built in equity-seeking communities.
